DESCRIPTION:The Northwestern College Symphonic Band will present a concert focusing on the return of Christ on Friday\, Nov. 6\, at 7:30 p.m. in Christ Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public. \nThe concert will be the final in the Symphonic Band’s trilogy; the first focused on God’s creation and the second on Christ’s life\, death and resurrection. The concert will open with “Alleluia! Laudamus Te” composed by Alfred Reed\, which encompasses the feel of a large chorus praising God. The ensemble will also perform “Lonely Beach” by James Barnes\, depicting the Battle of Normandy\, and “Apocalyptic Dreams” by David Gillingham. \n“The concert is a time of praising God and of reflection upon our chaotic and sinful world\,” says Dr. Angela Holt\, Northwestern’s director of instrumental studies and music education. “Our desire is to engage the audience in a way that helps them see our constant hope in Christ no matter what’s going on.” \nIn order to prioritize the safety of the musicians and the audience members\, masks will be required for the event. Physical distancing will be encouraged as families will be seated together in groups no larger than three persons.

DESCRIPTION:Parade Theme: Hometown Holiday\nShow your community support and celebrate by\ndisplaying what “Hometown Holiday” looks like to you! \nThe 2020 Sheldon Parade of Lights will kick-off the holiday season on Saturday\, November 28 at 5:30 pm. We welcome any type of entry: floats\, cars\, trucks\, farm equipment\, and musical groups. Your entry can represent any private or public entity\, a community group\, or a business. \nKIWA Radio & Ron Drenkow Motors have teamed up to sponsor a contest for JEEPS that are entered in the parade. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 JEEP entries. \nGuidelines:\n• Each entry must include lights. Music is encouraged.\n• Each entry must have a sign or banner to identify the group or business.\n• Please no Santa as part of your entry … Santa will be the final entry in the parade!\n• There is to be no throwing of candy or other items from a moving entry. It is recommended that you have people walk along side and hand out anything you want to give.\n• No entry fee. \nParade Details:\n• Lineup begins at 4:30 pm\, parade begins at 5:30 pm.\n• Lineup will be on 10th and 11th Street. You will be informed of your parade number and additional details prior to the event.\n• The parade route will run from the intersection of 11th Street and 3rd Avenue\, proceed north to 9th Street\, turn east on 9th Street\, ending by 5th Avenue.\n• KIWA will live stream the parade. \nSign up to be part of the action!\nPlease complete the entry form below and return as soon as possible.
