Distancing will be in place\, symptom screening and temp checks will be in place prior to being granted entry to event. \nTRAINING PORTION OF EVENT\nYouth Mental Health First Aid is designed to teach parents\, family members\, caregivers\, teachers\, school staff\, peers\, neighbors\, health and human services workers\, and other caring citizens how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is experiencing a mental health or addictions challenge or is in crisis. Youth Mental Health First Aid is primarily designed for adults who regularly interact with young people. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth\, reviews typical adolescent development\, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. Topics covered include anxiety\, depression\, substance use\, disorders in which psychosis may occur\, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD)\, and eating disorders. \nThis training will occur in two parts:\nA 2-hour self-paced module which you will gain access to via Adam Lybarger\nA 6.5-hour in-person training occurring April 1\, 2021 \nSocial Work CEUs will be available. We are currently waiting for approval for Foster/Adoptive Parent CEUs. Reach out to Taylor Prather at tprather@seasonscenter.org to inquire about CEUs. \nCHILD CARE PORTION OF EVENT\nSeasons will be offering FREE respite (child) care for any parent who attends this training. Activities will vary based on the child’s age. Minimum age for child care eligibility is 4 years old. Child must be potty trained. Parents will be required to complete a brief child profile on each child attending the child care portion of this event. This paperwork will be emailed to relevant attendees and can be completed prior to the event OR can be completed in person the day of the event. Please plan to arrive to this event 10 minutes early if you opt to complete this paperwork day of.

Mass vaccination clinics have been scheduled in Primghar and Sheldon\, but there is a limited amount of vaccine available and online pre-registration is required. \nThe mass vaccination clinics are scheduled as follows: \nMonday\, April 12th at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center\, 301 34th Ave.\, Sheldon\, IA 51201. Vaccines available will be the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine\, as well as the 1st dose of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Those opting to receive the Moderna vaccine will be informed during their appointment when they need to return for their second dose. \nThursday\, April 15th at the Crossroads Pavilion Event Center in Sheldon. To register visit www.prairieheritagecenter.org.    \nThe Nature Nut series is a program that is hosted once a month on a different topic.  Programs are hosted at an O’Brien County Conservation park or the Prairie Heritage Center.  Or participants can do them at your own pace and download materials from www.prairieheritagecenter.org. Programs will consist of a presentation on the topic and a hands-on activity. In-person programs will be 45-60 minutes in length. Participants can do a mix of in-person or virtual programs to participate. Participants who choose to join virtually will find all materials posted at www.prairieheritagecenter.org after the in-person presentation.   \nWhen you have completed the topic for the month get a stamp in your passport and you are on your way to becoming an official Nature Nut. Do one or do them all!
