DESCRIPTION:Northwestern College will host a summer theatre camp for high school students Sunday June 22nd through Thursday\, June 26th. \nOpen to students in grades 9-12\, the camp will be led by the college’s award-winning theatre professors\, who are experienced actors\, directors\, playwrights and technicians. Northwestern theatre students will also participate and serve as mentors. \nA camp fee of $375 covers the instruction\, room and board\, and access to campus facilities—including the theatres\, scene and costume shops\, and makeup and dressing rooms of the DeWitt Theatre Arts Center. There’s a $25 discount for returning campers or for local campers who choose not to stay in the dorms. \nThe campers will begin each day with theatre warmups and exercises\, followed by workshops on theatre skills such as acting\, stage movement and costume design. The afternoon will provide time for script memorization\, improvisation and scene work. The days will close with evening activities and community time in the residence halls. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
