Cherokee Man Dies In Western South Dakota Crash

Western South Dakota — The name of the Cherokee man who died in a single-vehicle crash this past weekend in Pringle, South Dakota has been released.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol states that the accident happened Saturday morning at 2:08am. A vehicle driven by 24-year-old Jordan Anfinson went off a roadway and entered a ditch. The vehicle struck a culvert and overturned. Anfinson was ejected and died at the scene.

Pringle, South Dakota — A Cherokee man has died as the result of an accident in Pringle, South Dakota on Saturday, March 22, 2025. Pringle is about 12 miles south of Custer, South Dakota or about 35 miles southwest of Rapid City.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol reports that at about 2:10 a.m. , the Cherokee man was driving a 2019 Ford eastbound on Lime Kiln Road, in Pringle.

The report says that the vehicle left the road and entered the ditch, striking a culvert. It overturned, the driver was ejected and died at the scene.

The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
