Feeder Truck Damaged In Rural Inwood Fire

Inwood, Iowa — A cab and chassis of a feeder truck was destroyed in a fire on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, near Inwood.

According to Inwood Fire Assistant Chief Devin Antrim, at about 12:30 p.m., the Inwood Fire Department was called to the report of a truck on fire at 1983 270th Street, three miles south and two east of Inwood.

The chief says the fire department saw a small feeder wagon truck with the cab fully engulfed in flame as they approached the scene. He says they used water to fight the fire.

Antrim says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined, but it likely started in the engine compartment.

Assistant Chief Antrim reports that the cab and chassis were destroyed, but he says the wagon portion may be salvageable.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about an hour.
