Hospers Man Taken To Hospital After Accident On Edge Of Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa– A Hospers man was taken to the hospital after an accident on the east edge of Sioux Center on Tuesday, October 29, 2024.

The Sioux Center Police Department reports that at about 5:05 p.m., 27-year-old Diana Ramos Lopez of Sioux Center was driving a 2015 Ford southbound on 13th Avenue Southeast– or Harrison Avenue, at B40, 400th Street, or 9th Street Southeast, near Sioux Center Health. They tell us that 61-year-old Brian Schwartz of Hospers was also southbound on 13th Avenue in a 2003 Ford, behind Ramos Lopez.

The report says that Ramos Lopez came to a stop on the roadway due to traffic being backed up at the stop sign, and Schwartz rear-ended her vehicle.

The Sioux Center Ambulance took Schwartz to Sioux Center Health Hospital.

Ramos Lopez’s Ford sustained $6000 in damages, and Schwartz’s Ford was totaled, with about $6500 in damages.

Schwartz was charged with following too closely. Ramos Lopez was charged with driving without a license.
