Hull, Iowa — A Hudson, SD woman was taken to a hospital after an accident on Wednesday, August 19 near Hull.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 11 AM, 25-year-old Jessica Davelaar of Hudson, SD was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata westbound on 320th Street, two miles west of Hull at the Perkins Corner. They report that 54-year-old Bruce Westra of Hull was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado pickup northbound on Highway 75.
The report says Davelaar stopped for the stop sign at Highway 75 and drove into the intersection where her car was struck by the Westra pickup.
The Hull Ambulance crew transported Davelaar to the Sioux Center Hospital.
The Hyundai sustained about $12,000 in damages. The Chevy pickup sustained an estimated $10,000 in damages.
The deputy cited Davelaar on a charge of failing to yield from a stop sign and Westra on a charge of failing to use a seatbelt.
The Sheriff’s Office says the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance crew assisted on the scene.
