Hull Man Faces Felony Forgery Charge

Hull, Iowa — A Hull man has been arrested on felony forgery and other charges.

According to a criminal complaint filed with the Sioux County Clerk of Court’s Office by the county sheriff’s office, 43-year-old Isidro Santos Encarnacion of Hull is accused of the possession of a fake Social Security card. He was arrested on Thursday.

In his statement, the deputy says that while Santos Encarnacion was operating a motor vehicle, he parked it on a lawn and into a snow bank. Police found he was in possession of an open container of alcohol. According to the deputy’s statement, Santos Encarnacion admitted to consuming alcohol and said he was drunk. The deputy says he registered 0.168 percent blood alcohol content, or over twice the legal limit. He was also found to be in possession of a fake social security card, according to the deputy.

The most serious charge faced by Santos Encarnacion is felony forgery, a class D felony. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison. He also faces a misdemeanor charge of first offense operating while intoxicated.

He faces a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, February 6th.

After being booked into jail, he was released the same day after posting a ten-percent deposit of a $3000 bond.
