Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids woman was distracted and struck a parked vehicle in Rock Rapids on Sunday, October 4th.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 6:45 am on Sunday, 58-year-old Kim Vander Plaats of Little Rock was driving a 2009 Buick Enclave southbound on Carroll Street. According to the report, Vander Plaats had looked down to adjust the radio and upon looking up, struck a parked 1991 Chevy pickup owned by forty-eight-year-old Daniel Durrence of Rock Rapids.
The Buick received $5000 damage. The Chevy received $3000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
