Larchwood, Iowa — A payloader hit an illegally parked vehicle on Saturday, November 21st near Larchwood.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 12:50 pm, 55-year-old Nancy Van Otterloo of Inwood parked a 2011 Ford Explorer at the intersection of Beech Avenue and 140th Street. Twenty-nine-year-old Benjamin Dieters of Larchwood was driving a 2006 Caterpillar payloader northbound on Beech Avenue. According to the report, as Dieters approached the stop sign at the intersection, he failed to see the Explorer that was illegally parked on the traveled portion of the road.
The Ford received $3500 damage.
No injuries were reported.
