Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man avoided deer on the roadway but in turn hit a bridge guardrail on Friday, November 13th near Sheldon.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 12:17 am, 20-year-old Matthew Henning was driving a 1999 Ford F-150 eastbound on 330th Street, one mile west of Sheldon. According to the report, Henning swerved to avoid deer on the roadway, lost control of his vehicle, struck a bridge guardrail, entered the south ditch and rolled.
The Ford received $8000 damage.
Henning reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.
