Orange City, Iowa– A semi and trailer were damaged after entering a ditch near Orange City on Tuesday, August 18th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 11:25 am, 23-year-old Joye Jamar of Bennettsville, South Carolina was driving a 2012 Freightliner semi-tractor pulling a trailer loaded with hay bales westbound on 400th Street, four miles northeast of Orange City. According to the report, Jamar attempted to turn north onto Jefferson Avenue when the trailer entered the northeast ditch and overturned.
The Frieghtliner receievd $1500 damage; the trailer received $9000 damage.
No injuries were reported.
Jamar was cited for failing to maintain control of a motor vehicle.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol and the Sioux County Engineer’s Office.
