Hartley, Iowa — A two vehicle accident was investigated by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday, July 26th east of Hartley.
The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 8:42 pm, 38-year-old Andrew Stockinger of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota was driving a 2008 Honda Odyssey westbound on Highway 18. Fifty-five-year-old Lawrence Bartley of Lake Park was driving a 1997 Ford Taurus westbound on Highway 18 behind Stockinger. According to the report, Bartley attempted a U-Turn and Stockinger swerved into the eastbound lane in an attempted to avoid Bartley’s Taurus. The Honda struck the Ford and they both came to rest up against a guardrail.
The Honda received $4617 damage; the Ford received $2314 damage.
No injuries were reported.
