Sioux Center, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated an accident near Sioux Center on Monday, November 9th.
According to the report, 65-year-old Steven Kelling of Orange City was driving a 2002 Ford Taurus northbound on Highway 75, one mile south of Sioux Center. Forty-two-year-old Alfonso Lopez of Sioux Center was driving a 1997 Chrysler Sebring northbound on Highway 75 following Kelling. The report continues, Kelling stopped for a vehicle ahead of him that was turning onto 420th Street when Lopez struck Kelling.
The Ford received $2500; the Chrysler received $1500.
No injuries were reported.
Lopez was cited on charges for driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license and following too close.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department.
