Alton Man Faces Drug Charges

Alton, Iowa — An Alton man has been arrested on drug charges.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday evening, December 23rd, one of their deputies arrested 20-year-old Cody Langel of Alton.

The arrest stemmed from a traffic stop that occurred on First Avenue in Alton. Upon further investigation they say the deputy discovered a controlled substance in the vehicle and suspected that Langel was under the influence of illegal drugs.

Langel was arrested and was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated (drugged), possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says their Canine Unit and the Orange City Police Department assisted in the investigation.
