Boyden Man Taken To Hospital After Hospers Area Crash

Hospers, Iowa — A Boyden man was taken to the hospital after a crash near Hospers.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just before 12:30 p.m. on Monday, September 17th, 69-year-old Arthur Van Bruggen of Boyden was driving a 2000 International straight truck northbound on Hospers Drive North, one mile north of Hospers, when he entered a curve in the road, lost control of the truck, and the truck entered the north ditch where it rolled onto its side.

Van Bruggen became trapped in the truck and was extricated by members of the Hospers Fire Department. The Sheldon Community Ambulance Team took Van Bruggen to Sanford Sheldon Hospital.

They say the International sustained about $12,000 in damage.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that the Hospers Fire Department, Hospers Ambulance Squad, and SCAT assisted them with the response to the accident, which they say remains under investigation.
