Cop’s Suspicion Leads To Drug Charges Against Two Adults, Two Juveniles

Rock Valley, Iowa — A pair of Rock Valley men, and two Sioux County juveniles, face various drug charges after arousing the suspicion of a Rock Valley Police Officer in the wee hours of Saturday morning.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the arrests of 21-year old Michael Harty, and 19-year old Braiton McDonald, both of Rock Valley, along with the citations of the two juveniles, stemmed from a Rock Valley Police Officer’s discovery of two suspicious vehicles parked in a Sioux County Public Park area one-half mile west of Rock Valley.

The investigation reportedly determined that Harty, McDonald, and the two juveniles were engaged in an illegal drug transaction at that park.

According to a release from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Harty was charged with Conspiracy to Deliver a Controlled Substance, while McDonald was charged with Distribution of a Controlled Substance, both of which Serious Misdemeanors.

Deputies say the juvenile males were each cited into Juvenile Court for Possession of a Controlled Substance.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department.
