Fire Damages Garage Northwest Of Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa — A garage was damaged in a fire on Wednesday, April 22, 2020, near Sioux Center.

According to Sioux Center Fire Chief David Van Holland, about 5:30 p.m., the Sioux Center Fire Department was called to the report of a garage fire at 3026 380th Street, three-quarters of a mile west of the Pella corner in northern Sioux Center.

The chief says the fire department saw smoke coming from an old garage as they approached the scene. He says they used water to fight the fire.

Van Holland says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is officially undetermined.

Chief Van Holland reports that the damage was contained to the garage, which didn’t have much of value in it.

He says the firefighters who responded were on the scene for about a half an hour.
