George Man Taken To Hospital After Accident

George, Iowa — A George man was taken to a hospital after an accident near George on Tuesday evening.

According to the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office, about 5:05 p.m., 37-year-old Austin Zebulon of George was driving a 2007 Ford Econoline E250 cargo van eastbound on County Road A-34. The report says Zebulon told them that as he reached the top of the hill the van began skidding and he lost control on the snow and ice-covered roadway.

The van entered the north ditch where it rolled one time and came to rest on its wheels.

They tell us that Zebulon was transported to Avera Hospital in Rock Rapids. According to the sheriff’s office, the van is considered a total loss.

Deputies report that the George Fire Department, the George Emergency Medical Services, and the Lyon County Ambulance squad assisted them with the response to the accident.
