Hartley Woman Faces Felony Charge In Clay County

Everly, Iowa — A Hartley woman was arrested late Thursday evening near Everly on a felony narcotics charge.

According to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, one of their deputies pulled over a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation shortly after 10:00 Thursday evening at the intersection of Highway 18 and 160th Avenue, which is approximately four miles northeast of Everly.

Authorities say that the deputy’s investigation allegedly revealed the driver, Shelly Ohrt of Hartley, to be in possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

Ohrt was placed under arrest and transported to the Clay County Jail at Spencer. She faces a charge of 3rd Offense Possession of Methamphetamine, which is a Class D Felony, as well as a misdemeanor charge of Possession of Paraphernalia.
