Hawarden Man Faces Felony, Misdemeanor Charges

Ireton, Iowa — A Hawarden man faces one felony and one misdemeanor charge following a Sunday afternoon incident.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, early Sunday afternoon they arrested 39-year-old Christopher Heuer of Hawarden, following an investigation that began after the sheriff’s office received a report of destruction of personal property and an assault that had occurred at a residence four miles southwest of Ireton.

According to online curt records, Heuer was charged with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, which is a Class D Felony, as well as 1st Offense Domestic Abuse Assault with Injury, which is a Serious Misdemeanor, and was transported to the Sioux County Jail, where he remained as of noon Monday.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Police Department.
