Hospers, Iowa — A Hospers woman was injured in an accident near Hospers in the afternoon hours of Monday, June 27th.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that at about 1:40 pm on Monday, 48-year-old Pamela Schmit of Hospers was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup southbound on Marsh Avenue, two miles southeast of Hospers. Twenty-one-year-old Jennifer Auchstetter of Hospers was driving a 2006 Mercury Milan westbound on 410th Street. According to the report, the two met in the intersection of 410th and Marsh, where the accident happened.
Auchstetter was transported by private vehicle to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
The Chevrolet received $7000 damage; the Mercury received $12,000 damage.
Auchstetter was cited with a charge of failing to yield right of way and failing to use seat belt.
