Medical Condition Blamed For Primghar Accident

Primghar, Iowa — A Primghar man was taken to the hospital after an accident in Primghar on Thursday, May 7, 2020.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 3:50 p.m., 59-year-old Kelly Stevens of Primghar was driving a 2013 Chevy eastbound on Third Street Southwest in Primghar.

The report says that the driver appeared to suffer a medical condition which caused his vehicle to leave the roadway, jumping over the south curb at the intersection of Third Street Southwest and South McCormick Avenue, proceeding west through privately owned lawns for over 200 feet until it struck a tree south of the intersection of Third Street Southwest and South Green Avenue.

The Primghar Ambulance took Stevens to Mercy One – Primghar Hospital.

Stevens’ Chevy sustained about $8000 in damages, which was enough to total the vehicle.
