Milford Woman’s Passenger Taken To Hospital After Accident

Sanborn, Iowa — A Milford woman’s 4-year-old passenger was taken to the hospital after an accident in Sanborn on Monday, May 9, 2022.

The Sanborn Police Department reports that at about 12:15 p.m., 41-year-old Megan Wintz of Milford was driving a 2018 Chrysler minivan southbound on Sibley Street in Sanborn. They tell us that 71-year-old Mary Ann Grooters of Sanborn was eastbound on East Third Street in a 2007 Chevy SUV.

The report says that the vehicles collided in the middle of the uncontrolled intersection.

The Sanborn Ambulance took a passenger in Wintz’s vehicle, 4-year-old Holtz Wintz to Sanford Sheldon Hospital. The report says a child safety seat was being used at the time of the crash, and the child’s injuries were described as minor.

Wintz’s Chrysler minivan sustained $3000 in damages, and Grooters’s Chevy SUV sustained $6000 in damages.

While no charges were filed, the report does say that Wintz failed to yield to the Grooters vehicle on her right.
