No Injuries In Wednesday Morning School Bus Collision

Hull, Iowa — No injuries were reported Wednesday when a school bus and a car collided in Hull.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred shortly after 8:00 am Wednesday when a 2020 Blue Bird school bus with 11 students aboard, driven by 82-year-old Ken Draayer of Hull was northbound on a residence driveway approaching Highway 18. 20-year-old Bailey Gesink, of Hull, was eastbound on Highway 18 in a 2013 Ford Focus. Deputies say Draayer entered onto Highway 18 and the two vehicles collided.

No injuries were reported.

The school bus sustained approximately $2,000 in damage. Damage to the Ford was estimated at $2,500.

Draayer was cited for failing to yield when entering a highway.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Ambulance and Hull Fire Department.
