Oelwein Man Jailed On Felony Stalking Charge In Hartley Case

Hartley, Iowa — The ex-husband of a Hartley woman is charged with Felony Violation of a No Contact Order after an incident on July 24th.

According to court records, 42-year-old Joshua Moore of Oelwein allegedly showed up at his ex-wife’s home in Hartley, even though he was under a No Contact Order from the court in connection with an earlier incident.

Court records indicate that Moore’s victim received a video late on the night of July 24th from the Ring doorbell camera she had installed on the back door of her residence, which allegedly showed Moore standing at the back door of her home. The victim summoned police, but the defendant was gone by the time they arrived.

Authorities say the doorbell camera had been ripped from the house by the time they arrived and was nowhere to be found.

Authorities say that both the victim and the responding officer were allegedly able to identify Moore from the doorbell video.

Online court records indicate that Moore had allegedly violated the No Contact Order on a previous occasion.

A warrant for Moore’s arrest was issued July 29th, according to online court records, and he was reportedly taken into custody by officers from the Oelwein Police Department on August 4th, before being returned to O’Brien County to answer to the charge.
