Pair Of Drunk Driving Arrests Come From One Osceola County Traffic Stop

Ocheyedan, Iowa — Two arrests for the price of one. That’s what an Osceola County Sheriff’s Deputy netted after making a traffic stop on a pair of motorcycles earlier this week.

According to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, during the wee hours of Sunday morning, a deputy pulled over two motorcycles for speeding northwest of Ocheyedan on Highway 9.

Authorities say both men were ultimately arrested for OWI. Deputies say 42-year-old Bryan Daniel of Ocheyedan was arrested for 3rd Offense OWI, which is a Class D Felony. 53-year-old James Bates, also of Ocheyedan, was placed under arrest and charged with 1st Offense OWI, which is a Serious Misdemeanor.

Both men were booked into the Osceola County Jail in Sibley, Daniel in lieu of a $5,000 bond and Bates on a $1,000 bond.

Deputies say both men were also cited for excessive speed.
