Payloader Damaged In Sioux Center Area Fire

Sioux Center, Iowa — A payloader was damaged in a fire on Wednesday, November 13, 2019, near Sioux Center.

According to Sioux Center Fire Chief David Van Holland, about 5:10 p.m., the Sioux Center Fire Department was called to the report of a payloader fire at 3921 Hickory Avenue, two miles east and a little south of the Sioux Center Hardee’s.

The chief says the fire department saw some flames as they approached the scene. He says they used water to fight the fire.

Van Holland says no injuries were reported.

He says the cause of the fire is undetermined, but he believes dust may have been a factor.

Chief Van Holland reports that there was moderate damage to the payloader.

He says the 16 firefighters who responded were on the scene for ten to fifteen minutes.
