Kingsley, Iowa — Plymouth County authorities are investigating what they are terming a ‘suspicious death’ after responding to a 911 call regarding an unresponsive person Monday morning.

According to the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, the call came in shortly before noon Monday, and sent emergency personnel to a residence in Kingsley, where they found a deceased individual.

According to Sheriff Mike Van Otterloo, a preliminary investigation by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Kingsley Police Department and Plymouth County Medical Examiner concluded that the death is suspicious and additional investigation is warranted. Authorities say an autopsy has been scheduled with the State Medical Examiner in Ankeny to determine the exact manner and cause of death.

Van Otterloo says the deceased is a 54-year-old female whose body was discovered by an acquaintance, who made the 911 call. He says a search warrant was executed at the residence but offered no further information. Van Otterloo says no further information will be released until next of kin have been notified.
