Remsen Woman Charged With Theft, Forgery In Sioux County

Sioux Center, Iowa — A Remsen woman is jailed in Sioux County on felony forgery and theft charges following her arrest on Thursday (February 10th).

According to court records, 43-year-old Samantha Ann Hageman, of Remsen, is accused of obtaining money in the form of ATM withdrawals, transactions at merchants, digital transactions for entertainment and checks from the victim.

Authorities say the victim is a resident in a Sioux County nursing home who is unable to care for himself, or make financial decisions.

Deputies say the total amount allegedly withdrawn by the victim was more than $10,000.

Hageman is charged with 1st Degree Theft, a Class C Felony, along with Forgery, a Class D Felony.

As of mid-day Friday, she was still being held in the Sioux County Jail.
