Rock Rapids Man Taken To Hospital After Crash

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Rock Rapids man was taken to a hospital after a crash north of Rock Rapids on Saturday morning, April 22, 2017.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 10 a.m., 47-year-old David DeNoble of Rock Rapids, was southbound on K52, about three miles north of Rock Rapids in a 2008 Toyota Corolla when he fell asleep and drifted onto the west shoulder of the roadway, woke up, and over-corrected back onto the roadway. The report says the Toyota then skidded across the roadway before entering the east ditch where it rolled two times before coming to rest on its top.

DeNoble was trapped in the vehicle and was extricated by non-mechanical means. The Lyon County Ambulance took him to Sanford Rock Rapids Hospital.

He was cited on a charge of failure to maintain control.

Deputies report that the Rock Rapids Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Lyon County Ambulance Squad assisted them on the scene.
