Rock Valley Man Accused Of Stealing, Pawning Engagement & Wedding Rings

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley man was arrested Friday on a warrant charging him with 2nd Degree Theft.

Court records indicate that 27-year-old Maynor Jonathon Hernandez is accused in a case dating back to June of this year.  According to the Criminal Complaint, Hernandez is charged with taking an engagement and wedding ring valued at more than $3,000, which were owned by a Rock Valley woman on June 20th. The complaint goes on to say that Hernandez allegedly sold the rings to a Sioux Falls pawn shop on June 21st.

Online court records indicate that charges of 2nd Degree Theft, a Class D Felony, were filed by Rock Valley Police on July 9th, with an arrest warrant issued July 12th. Rock Valley Police served the warrant and arrested Hernandez on Friday, July 12th, according to online jail records. No trial date has been set.
