Rock Valley Woman Taken To Hospital After Accident Near Rock Valley

Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman was taken to the hospital after an accident near Rock Valley on Thursday, July 1st.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:20 p.m., 22-year-old Alisa Anderson of Rock Valley was driving a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country minivan eastbound on Highway 18, two miles east of Rock Valley. They report that 18-year-old Damion Reuvers of Boyden was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado pickup eastbound on Highway 18 behind Anderson. Anderson slowed to turn left onto Garfield Avenue and Reuvers struck the Anderson minivan.

The Rock Valley Ambulance took Anderson to Hegg Health Center in Rock Valley. Reuvers reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

They say the Anderson Chrysler sustained about $9,000 in damage, and the Reuvers Chevrolet sustained about $11,000 in damage.

Reuvers was charged with following too closely.

The sheriff’s office reports that the Rock Valley Police Department, Rock Valley Fire Department, Rock Valley Ambulance Squad, and the Iowa State Patrol assisted them with the response to the accident.
