Sheldon Man Arrested For Forgery, Theft

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man has been arrested on a felony warrant for Forgery, and faces three additional misdemeanor charges as well.

According to Sheldon Police, the case against 28-year-old Eduardo Gongora-Mendoza stems from the theft of a credit card that was reported this past Friday, July 19th. Gongora-Mendoza is accused of using that stolen credit card to purchase merchandise from two separate Sheldon businesses, and to finance a Western Union cash transaction.

Police say Gongora-Mendoza faces a Felony Forgery charge, as well as a trio of Misdemeanor Theft charges. Online jail records indicate he was arrested on a warrant for those crimes on Monday, July 22nd by Sheldon Police, and transported to the O’Brien County Jail.
