Sheldon Man Arrested On Felony Drug Warrant

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man was arrested Thursday (March 4th) on a felony narcotics warrant stemming from a routine traffic stop in Sheldon on February 22nd.

According to court records, around 5:45 that afternoon, an Iowa State Trooper performed a traffic stop for not displaying registration plates and having darkly tinted windows. The trooper allegedly detected a faint odor of marijuana emanating from within the vehicle, and conducted a probable cause search, allegedly discovering what appeared to be marijuana in the passenger’s pocket.

Court records indicate that later it was learned that the vehicle’s passenger, 43-year-old Eduardo Gamboa of Sheldon had two previous drug-related convictions out of California. Gamboa was then charged, on March 1st, with Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd Offense, which is a Class D Felony.

According to online court records, a warrant for Gamboa’s arrest was issued March 2nd and Sheldon Police arrested him on that warrant on Thursday, March 4th. Gamboa reportedly made his initial court appearance Friday morning in Primghar.
