UPDATE: Sheldon Man Injured In Single-Vehicle Rollover

Sanborn, Iowa — More details are now being released involving a single-vehicle crash near Sanborn on July 24th.

According to information just released by the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred around 4:15 that afternoon when a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, driven by 63-year-old Kevin Anderson of Sheldon, was southbound on Olive Avenue, about 1/2 mile north of Highway 18.

Deputies say Anderson’s vehicle appeared to be traveling at a high rate of speed and went out of control. According to the accident report, the vehicle lost traction and began to fishtail, eventually entering the west ditch, where it rolled three or four times, coming to rest on its roof.

Anderson was taken by SCAT to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for what the crash report describes as suspected serious injuries.

Deputies say charges are pending.

Sanborn, Iowa — A Sheldon man was taken to the hospital after rolling his car near Sanborn late Saturday afternoon.

According to the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office, around 4:15 Saturday afternoon the O’Brien County Dispatch Center received a report of a rollover crash about one-half mile north of Highway 18 on Olive Avenue, west of Sanborn.

Deputies say the crash involved a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt that was owned and driven by 63-year-old Kevin Glen Anderson of Sheldon.

Anderson was taken by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team to the Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for treatment of injuries.

Authorities say the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by SCAT and the Sheldon Fire Company.
