Sheldon Woman Arrested, Accused Of Vehicle Theft

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon woman is behind bars after the Sheldon Police Department arrested her on a felony theft warrant.

According to court records, 27-year-old Cecelia Katherine Hanson of Sheldon is accused of taking a Delta 88 Oldsmobile sedan, as the document puts it, “with the intent to deprive the owner of the vehicle.” The alleged theft is thought to have occurred on or about June 23rd.

Court records say a warrant was issued for her arrest a week ago — on June 29th, and court records indicate Sheldon officers arrested Hanson on Saturday — the fourth of July — on a warrant for Second Degree Theft, a class D felony, and on a misdemeanor theft warrant from the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.

According to court records, Hanson is to face a preliminary hearing on the felony charge on Tuesday, July 14th.
