Sheldon Woman Goes To Hospital After Parking Lot Crash

accident wordSheldon, Iowa — Sheldon Emergency Services personnel were dispatched to a single-vehicle crash in the Sheldon Middle School Parking Lot late Monday afternoon.

Sheldon Police, Sheldon Fire & Rescue, Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, and Sheldon EMA were dispatched shortly before 5:00 pm Monday to the report of a minivan crashing into a concrete light support at the Sheldon Middle School.

Police say the accident happened when a 2002 Pontiac Montana minivan, driven by 38-year old Dawn Seivert of Sheldon was driving west through the parking lot.  Seivert reportedly told police that she attempted to make a left turn in the lot, when her minivan struck the concrete support pillar.

Seivert was transported to Sanford Sheldon Medical Center by the Sheldon Community Ambulance Team, with undetermined injuries.

Damage to Seivert’s minivan was estimated at approximately $5,000, while the concrete support pillar was undamaged.
