Sibley Man To Do Jail Time, Probation, Among Penalties For Domestic Abuse

Sibley, Iowa — A Sibley man will do some jail time, and serve probation, among other penalties after he pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Monday (7/23), 50-year-old James Lee Richards of Sibley pled guilty to Domestic Abuse Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor.

Richards was sentenced to 30 days in the Osceola County Jail with all time suspended except for two days. He will serve two years’ probation. Richards was ordered to successfully complete a Domestic Abuse Intervention Program, and was ordered to continue to have no contact of any nature with the victim.

Richards assaulted a female victim by punching her in the face on July 14th.
