Sioux Center Woman Injured In Rollover Crash Near Hawarden

Hawarden, Iowa — A Sioux Center woman was injured early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle rollover accident near Hawarden.

According to a report from the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies were dispatched to the report of a crash five miles northeast of Hawarden at 12:28 Saturday morning.

Deputies say a 2006 Mercury Mariner SUV, driven by 20-year-old Jasmine Negus of Sioux Center, was northbound on Cherry Avenue and attempted to turn east onto 390th Street, when she reportedly lost control of her vehicle, entered the north ditch and rolled.

Negus was transported by the Hawarden Ambulance to Hawarden Regional Healthcare for treatment of minor injuries.

The Mercury sustained approximately $5,000 in damage.

Negus was reportedly cited for failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hawarden Police Department, Hawarden Ambulance and Hawarden Fire Department.
