Plymouth County Iowa — One teen was killed and another injured in a UTV rollover just after midnight on Memorial Day.
The driver, 19 year old Rene Zoe Cason was killed in the accident. A passenger Cass Camarigg age 20 was injured. Cason was taken by private vehicle to St. Luke Hospital in Sioux City. Camarigg was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Hospital also in Sioux City.
According to the official report the rollover occurred at 12:20 am on private property in rural Plymouth County at 31525 K18 South. The UTV traversed down a hill. The driver hit the brakes and turned to the left to avoid hitting a fence post and fencing. After turning left and braking the vehicle rolled causing fatal injuries to the driver. The two seater UTV was occupied by 4 people at the time. The driver was transported by friends to St Luke’s hospital where she was pronounced deceased. The crash is under investigation.
