Three Hurt When Car Strikes Golf Cart

Sibley, Iowa — Three teens were injured Sunday evening when their golf cart was struck by a car in Sibley.

According to a report from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, the mishap occurred around 9:00 pm when a 2018 Ford Fusion, driven by 26-year-old Jordan McCuddin of Sibley, struck a 2009 Yamaha golf cart, driven by 17-year-old Kristyn Johnson of Sibley, near the intersection of 5th Street and Golf View Drive in Sibley.

Deputies say Johnson and her two passengers, both of whom are 16-years-old, were taken to the Osceola Regional Health Center. Johnson and one of her passengers received suspected serious injuries, with the other passenger suffering suspected minor injuries. McCuddin was uninjured.

Deputies estimate damage to McCuddin’s car at $2500, with damage to the golf cart estimated at $1500. Authorities say the crash remains under investigation.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sibley Ambulance.
