Three Spencer Residents Jailed After Drug Raid

Spencer, Iowa — Three Spencer residents face several drug-related charges following a raid Wednesday evening.

Spencer Police Chief Mark Warburton says Spencer Police and Clay County Sheriff’s Office personnel executed a search warrant at an apartment in Spencer about 6:30 Wednesday evening.

During the execution of the warrant, Warburton says more than a pound of marijuana was located along with almost 2 dozen THC vape cartridges, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. As a result of the search, 21 year-old Jose Ramirez and 18 year-old Kennedy Runkle, both of Spencer, were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, a class D felony, possession of THC, a serious misdemeanor, failure to affix a drug tax stamp, a class D felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia a simple misdemeanor.

Warburton says 18 year-old Juan Perez of Spencer was charged with possession of THC, a serious misdemeanor, possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, and possession of marijuana 2nd offense, which is an aggravated misdemeanor.

All subjects were transported to the Clay County Jail without incident according to Chief Warburton.
