Two Taken To Sioux Center Hospital After Accident

Sioux Center, Iowa — Two Sioux County residents were taken to a hospital after an accident on Friday, January 14 near Sioux Center.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that 66-year-old John Cave of Ireton was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox southbound on Highway 75, about two miles south of Sioux Center. They tell us 20-year-old Neftali Ramos of Sioux Center was driving a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee northbound on Highway 75.

According to the investigating deputy, Ramos lost control of the vehicle, which crossed the center of the roadway and the vehicles collided.

The Sioux Center Ambulance took Cave and Ramos to the Sioux Center Health hospital. Their injuries were described as minor.

The Chevrolet and Jeep each sustained approximately $9,000 in damage.

Ramos was cited on charges of failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver’s license.

The sheriff’s office says the Sioux Center Ambulance Squad, the Sioux Center Fire Department, and the Iowa State Patrol assisted them with the response to the accident.
