Rock Valley, Iowa — A Rock Valley woman was taken to the hospital after an accident in Rock Valley on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.
The Rock Valley Police Department reports that about 8:00 p.m., 18-year-old Sharai Cardenas of Rock Valley was driving a 2001 Honda southbound on Main Street, near the Highway 18 intersection. They say 25-year-old Dulce Ramon Ontiveros of Rock Valley was also southbound on Main, in front of Cardenas, in a 2016 Dodge.
The report says that Ramon Ontiveros was stopping at the stoplight. It says Cardenas rear-ended the Romon Ontiveros Dodge.
The report says Ramon Ontiveros was pregnant and complained of pain to her stomach area. The Rock Valley Ambulance took Ramon Ontiveros to Hegg Health Center Avera Hospital.
Cardenas’s Honda sustained no visible damage, and Ramon Ontiveros’ Dodge sustained only $100 in damages.
Cardenas was given a written warning on the officer’s belief of following too closely. The report says she admitted to messing with the radio while driving.
