Orange City, Iowa — According to court records, it’s been difficult to get correspondence to an Orange City woman accused of burglary and theft — and now the county attorney wants to do something about it.
An arraignment had been scheduled for this past Monday for 23-year old Stacy Carr. But according to court records, the court has been trying to send her court documents and they have been returned undeliverable. The court documents indicate the last mailing from the court contained an order approving the trial information, an order to appear for arraignment and conditions of release. Sioux County Attorney Thomas Kunstle has moved that the court issue a warrant for arrest.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says the charges against Carr stem from the investigation into a residential burglary in Hull. Deputies say Carr is accused of entering a residence on Maple Street in Hull without permission and stealing a cell phone.
According to authorities, Carr faces charges of 3rd Degree Burglary, a Class D Felony, and 5th Degree Theft, a Simple Misdemeanor, in connection with the incident.
Carr has filed a written plea of not guilty to the misdemeanor charge.
