Construction Continues On $7.2 Million Expansion

Sheldon, Iowa — Construction continues in Sheldon on a $7.2 million expansion at Ag Partners.
Pellet Mill Construction
If you’ve been driving through Sheldon, perhaps you’ve caught a glimpse of the white girders going up on the west side of Old Highway 60. That’s the support structure for the new pellet mill. Ag Partners’ Vice-President of Feed, Scott Lovin, tells us about the tower.

He tells us what will be inside the 140-foot pellet tower building.

Lovin says Ag Partners hopes to have the facility up and running by December or January.

He says they don’t expect that the construction will have much impact on farmers bringing in their crops during harvest.

According to information released in April, the facility will include a 60-ton per hour pellet line, and a six-ton mixer. This will increase total capacity to 600,000 tons of meal feed annually and 300,000 tons of pellets. Company officials say the expansion will meet the increased demands in the marketplace as the demands for a premium pelleted product have grown.
