Northwest Iowa — It’s cold outside and you really don’t feel like going and working out. Many people do skip their workouts when the weather turns frigid, whether they find themselves tired, or suffer from a motivational deficit.
Dr. Greta Giese is the Coordinator of the Lifelong Learning and Recreation Center at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, and she says it’s not a good idea to skip workouts when the weather is cold.
She says the workouts are especially important this time of year.
Giese says that the New Year’s Resolutions exercise has been going on for a couple of months, and it’s easy to lose focus on your exercise program.
She reminds us that exercise gives us energy.
Exercise is important, and Dr. Giese says it can also be very easy.
So if you’re tempted to let your exercise habit slide during these frigid days, try and avoid the temptation, and find some way to get the exercise your body needs.
