Orange City, Iowa — What’s being called the “21 Campaign” at Unity Christian High School is in its third month of campaigning for a new gym, science wing, and transportation building.
According to Head of School Wayne Dykstra, over $2.25 million has been given or pledged to date. He tells us how they came up with the plan.
When the Unity Christian Society voted on it in late November, the idea passed by an overwhelming 97 percent.
Dykstra says, “We are optimistic and very grateful for the strong support shown so far from friends of the school. Our goal is to break ground when we reach $6.5 million in pledges and gifts.”
He gives us some details on the timeline.
Dykstra tells us that construction will take probably a year after the money is in place.
The Board of Unity says they are inviting community and business support in the form of multi-year pledges and gifts. To learn more about the project, they tell us you can call the school at 712-737-4114.
