Incumbents To Run Unopposed For Sheldon City Council, Mayor & School Board

Sheldon, Iowa — Iowa voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 2nd to cast their ballots for city offices and school board members.

In Sheldon, there will be three offices on the ballot: Mayor, 2nd Ward City Council and one At-Large seat.

In each case the incumbents: Mayor Greg Geels; 2nd Ward Councilman Ken Snyder; and At-Large Councilman Tom Eggers were the only candidates to file their papers to get their names on the November ballot, so barring any write-in campaigns, the trio will be running unopposed.

Snyder is running for a full term after winning a three-way special election earlier this year to fill out the unexpired term of former Councilman Shawn Broesder, who resigned last spring.

Voters will also make their wishes known in reference to two seats on the Sheldon Community Schools Board of Education, which will be on the ballot November 2nd. District #1 Board Member Susan Rensink has filed papers to keep her place on the school board for District #1. At-Large Board Member Lori Richards has also filed for re-election. The two incumbents are the only people to file papers to run.

Election for City offices and school boards will be held Tuesday, November 2nd.
